God Hears Me

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry. Psalm 34:15 NIV

God knows your desires, wants, needs. God hears your prayers, spoken and unspoken. God loves you more than we can measure with words to exemplify. God wants only his best for you!

Selah, pause and think about God listening to you. The New Living Translation of Psalm 116:2 says God bends down to listen. What a great a mighty God to bend down, from his throne, to listen to me.

When we keep in mind that God listens to us, we will be more aware of the things we say. We'd be more conscious not to say his name in vain. When we realize God hears us, we'd stop worrying about things.

Stop. Close your eyes and say, "God hears me!"

Wait For Love

Don't excite love, don't stir it up until the time is ripe. Song of Solomon 8:4, 3:5, 8:4

This message is referenced three times in the Song of Solomon. The repetition displays an importance.  If you are looking or waiting on someone to find you, be constant and steady in patience. God has a special someone for you! You don't have to go looking and hunting for them. God has already predestined you expected meeting date and time. As you wait, do just that, wait on God. Wait on God. Serve God. Give your time. Learn a new hobby and enjoy. Get to know God deeper, more intimately.

Don't accept everyone that tries to entire your life. Be aware of labeling people "the one". Secondly, beware of labeling someone "the one" without consulting God first. Even after consulting God, pray it out. Our desires can sometimes we heard has God's instructions!

Let me encourage you...
When I met my husband, I didn't go looking for him. In fact, I wasn't looking at all. I didn't put myself in a place I wouldn't normally go. I didn't try to be something I wasn't. I was simple me...then one night, my husband (didn't know it at the time) walks into my life at a Chili's restaurant.

God knows your address and he knows how to lead your spouse straight to you. When you are ready, your spouse will entire your life. He or she will not enter anytime sooner than God prepared. As you wait, stay focused on God. When you wallow in self-pity and loneliness, you delay the process. Keep your heart right! Stay alert! Don't let envy and jealousy enter your heart. Those characteristics sends creates on a detour which in turn takes your special someone longer to reach you!

Make a list of your expectations in a spouse. Don't lower your standards. God will give you all that you desire, plus some more. Your spouse will be yours and you will be his, forever, when God puts you together.

Single man, woman, God wants you to know, you are beautiful from head to toe. You are his dear love, beautiful beyond compare, absolutely flawless (Song of Solomon 4:7 MSG). Be comfortable in your own skin. Be who God created you to be. Be whole, only then will an addition be added to your life.

Don't excite love, don't stir it up until the time is ripe.
Wait.

No Fear!

There is no fear in love. But perfect love cast out fear. For fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. Fear is the absence of the awareness that God is love. When I am fearful, I don't let it linger. I immediately cast that emotion down.

God is love and in his love, there is no fear. I will not fear bad things happening to me. I will not have a fear of lack. God supplies all my need. Phillipians 4:19. I will not fear being alone. God is always with me. I will not fear bad things about my family. Me and my house will serve The Lord. Joshua 24:15. I will not fear being bound. There is freedom and liberty in Jesus. 2 Corinthians 3:17

When fear comes knocking, you know whose at work; the enemy. Fear makes us stagnant. Fear stops us from doing what God told us to. Fear keeps us from growing. Fear is a dream killer. Fear comes with torment. God is a love. 1 John 4:8

Fellowship

Surround yourself  with only people that add value to your life. When you hang with other believers you are sharpened as it says in Proverbs 27:17, iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.  Jesus valued fellowship. He was constantly around like-minded believers.

When you invite people into your lives that are negative, dishonest, worrisome, they devalue your being and your time. Take an inventory of yourself fellowship:
1. Do the people closest to you speak the word?
2. Are the ones you hang with the most headed in the same direction as you are traveling?
3. Do you need to cut ties with anyone?
4. Is there anyone  holding you back, mentally, spiritually, socially?
5. Are you being sharpened by your circle of friends?

Jesus fellowshiped with others that were heading in the same direction as he. Are you doing the same?

Unlimited Love

There is no limit to God's love.

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, one things present nor things to come, nor height or depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38, 39

There is no sin greater than God's love. No matter what you've done, repent, TURN AND DO NOT REPEAT,  and God will forgive you.

Isn't it amazing how Jesus used sinners to do great things. Jesus changes sinners into great and powerful people to do his will.

King David committed sins of adultery and murder. God forgave him. God used him mightily.

Apostle Paul murdered and treated Christians harshly. Jesus met him on the road of Damascas and change his name.

Peter denied Jesus three times. How often do we deny Jesus? His word? His instructions? Peter's life was turn around!

A prostitute named Rahab had great faith after meeting Jesus!

The Prodigal Son turned his back on his family and left home.

Because of God's love, he was gladly and openly accepted by his family when he realized who he was!

Be persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, one things present nor things to come, nor height or depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate you from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38, 39

There is no limit to God's love.

Walk in Love

Walk in love. Ephesians 5:2

Family is important to God, therefore to Jesus and therefore, it should be important to us. Walking in love can be the biggest obstacles with family members. But, does it have to? Think about it, if we made a conscious effort to walk in love, there would be less argument, selfishness, and to sum it all up, works of the flesh. Sometimes, working with people can be a task but God commands us to WALK IN LOVE...

Walking in love requires discipline with only God can provide. Be kind to one another. Forgive others. Are you waiting on an apology from someone you feel you deserve. Don't let their lack of maturity stump your growth.

Jesus walked in love daily. He walked in love when they arrested him in the garden. He walked in love when they pulled out his hair. When they spit in his face, he walked in love. People mocked him, called him names, laughed at him; yet, he walked in love.

Judas, one of twelve chosen by Jesus, betrayed him with a kiss. That didn't stop Jesus from walking in love. Walk in love with the family members that rub you the wrong way. Be kind to the people that talk about you. The ones that betray, love them. Do something nice for them. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you. Proverbs 25:22

Trust God's Timing

Trust God's Timing
There's an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth:
A right time for brith and another for death,
A right time to plant and another to reap,
A right time to kill and another to heal,
A right time to destroy and another to construct,
A right time to cry and another to laugh,
A right time to lament and another to cheer,
A right time to make love and another to abstain,
A right time to embrace and another to part,
A right time to teach and another to count your losses,
A right time to hold on and another to let go,
A right time to rip out and another to mend,
A right time to shut u and another to speak up,
A right time to love and another to hate,
A right time  to wage ward and another to make peace.
Ecclesiastes 3: 2 - 8 MSG

When we do things before there time. We only delay the process. Waiting is part of the learning.
When we try to get things done before God's timing, things don't work out. When we rush God's timing, we become distracted, discontent, and disengaged with focusing on God. Trust God's timing in whatever you are going through. Ultimately, totally, completely, God knows best!

Be Of Good Cheer

Be of good cheer!

Peace is my assurance of God's presence in any and every situation. Although some days, to keep peace can be a battle, it is a great necessity. Peace is found in Jesus. The world has a form of peace but it isn't genuine. Only God-given peace carries us through.

Isn't it interesting, in John 16:33, Jesus said, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." He prefaced this statement by telling us we have peace in him. This is most important! Then he added, in this world, you will have trouble, but be of good cheer. But is a conjunction so what matters are the words that come behind it..So, reviewing that grammar mini lesson, let's read the text again:

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." When things don't happen like we should, be of good cheer! When someone rubs us the wrong way, be of good cheer! When school isn't going the way you should, be of good cheer! When you are waiting on the mate God has for you,  be of good cheer! If you lost your job, be of good cheer! You lost someone you love, be of good cheer!

So, I know you maybe thinking, what? How on earth can I be of good cheer when thing around me seem to dwindle. Isn't it great how God's thoughts are nothing like our thoughts and his ways are fair beyond anything we can imagine.  Isa. 55:8. Let's stop putting God on the same level as we are. He's higher. God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 1 Cor. 1:27.

It's time to take God for his word. If he tells us to be of good cheer, that's what we should do. He's never lost a battle. He's never failed. He's going to repay you what you lost. Since you've been waiting, continue, it'll be worth the wait. God repays big!

Be of good cheer!

Be Still

Rest in knowing God is God. He has things worked out already. He is working on your behalf.
When we are still, we can hear God's voice. God reassures his love for us when we are still. We are able to open up to God and tell him anything. The great thing about God is, he reads our thoughts before I know them.

When we meditate on who God is, everything we thought was a concern becomes minute, less than a minus. We are straightened when we know that he God. God is able to do immeasurable more than we can ask or think.

When we are still and know that he is God, we are aware of our kingdom rights. We stop accepting things that don't line up with God' will. God's will is his word. But, if we don't spend time in the word, we want know all that we have access to.

Tune out the voices of the world. Stop seeing counsel from the friends around you. Listen to God. Who else better knows us best? Only God knows us from the inside, out. Only God knows what's to come. Only God knows what's best for us independently, and corporately. God wants to pour out and bless you more than you know.

Give God a chance. You want be sorry. Your life will never be the same as a result of getting to know Jesus.

Be still.

Love First

We love because he first loved us.
1 John 4:19

Accept the unaccepted. Love the unlovable. Want the unwanted. Be a voice for the voiceless. Isn't that what Christ calls us to do? Isn't that how he spent his time here on earth? Where would we be without the love of Jesus. One of my favorite quotes written by yours truly is, "Like a bag hanging in a tree, so was I until He rescued me." Without Jesus, I am nothing. The simple task of raising my hand couldn't be carried out without the strength of God, forced by his love for me.

Love is found in a new born's cry or a look in a mother's eyes. Love is a gentle push from those that believe in you. Love is putting others first. It is giving more than getting. Love is the ability to see beyond  a person and view their heart. Love allows you to see the good in others.

We love because he first loved us. When the wind blows, God reminds me he's there. When I see a rainbow, I'm reminded of a promise that God can't break! To receive hugs and kisses from the ones I love is a gift from God. When he corrects, that's love. Everything God does in an act of love.

Love First

Life is a Vapor

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. James 4:14

Don't take life for granted! Life is only but a vapor, disappearing in thin air without a trace. Make your life count. Be there for the ones you love. Go above and beyond for them. Do what you can to help those in need. Make an impact on those around you. How has your life benefited the lives of others? Do you take or give? Do you give more than you take?  What impression do you have in your circle of influence? Do you add to the lives of others or do you remove? Can people find comfort in your words or do you push them away?

Cherish your life. Be happy. Live in peace. Make no regrets! Choose wisely on how you leave. Make a conscience effort on treating people right. May your life display the love of God. Focus on the things that matter:

  • love
  • joy
  • peace
  • kindness
  • weakness
  •  patience
  • gentleness

These are the characteristics that make lasting impressions.

God Has A Plan For Your Life

God has place dreams in my heart and visions in my mind and I must say, every time I make a step, after listening to God, it leads me in the right direction. Each step I've taken in life has been connected to the next.....I am still walking out those dreams and visions. I will reach them. Though the vision tarries, I will wait for it, for it shall surely come! Habakkuk 2:3

Three years ago, I taught first grade. There's was something quite interesting about that year is, on day one, I knew it was going to be my last year in the classroom. It's a indescribable feeling yet I can totally say that I was for sure 100% certain that I  would resign at the end of the year, because I followed God's instruction.

The summer came and I was offered a librarian position. That year was different and great and I was exposed to more educational tasks and more leadership experiences. As the year ended, I had the same assurance as the year before, it was time to leave. The more time I spent with God, the more I get to know his voice. So, I knew what to do. I didn't question. I didn't worry. I didn't know what was going to happen in the natural but I know God was working things out for my good. Now, I'm in a place that I'm able to apply and combine all of my experiences. Everything is connecting right before my eyes.

God planted the gifts and he placed people in my life that waters the seed. Be careful and aware of the people in your surroundings. Accept only those who water.

May you be encouraged to get to know God. When you get to know Him, you'll know his voice. He knows what's best for you! When God gives instructions, listen. There's always a blessing to follow!

God has a plan for your life.

All Is Well

2 Kings 4:8 - 37 tells the story about a Shunamite woman. She had one son died. He died in her arms.  "It is well, it is well" were the ONLY words spoken as she ran to the prophet Elisha. What great faith she had. She focused on what was unseen instead of what was evident. That's what faith does. It believes the unseen and charges the impossible with a possible outcome!

What about if we handled our impossible situations with that same attitude. Imagine the mountains we'd move and the giants we slay! Thing would turn around faster. Our prayers would get answered, quicker. We get an increase in instant manifestation of healing.

I'm learning to watch my words. It is a daily practice to discipline my thoughts and my words. Those things around me may seem to be "showing" something different, but really matters are the words I say. When I'm having a bad day, I change it to Boy, what a day! When I'm not feeling well, I say, "I thank God for healing me!" When I have a headache, instead of expressing that, I'll say, "This headache is leaving in Jesus name!"

The words we say can bring something to life or kill. My words are powerful. The words I speak, shape my attitude. When we complain and doubt, we cancel God's plan. Angels only move when we speak the word.

I can have what God says I have because I say I have it. I can do what God says I can do because I say I can do it! I will be what God wants me to be, because I say I will be. I am what I am because of the words I've made a conscience effort to say! My dreams, goals, and visions will come to pass because I speak them into existence. Every time I speak about whats to come, in agreement with God's word,  my angels set things in motion.

ALL IS WELL

Shaddai's Shadow

Psalm 91 grants me access to the shadow of the Almighty. I do not fear bad things happening to me because God is my covering. In his presence, is my fortress. It is God I trust totally and completely. God covers with his wings; he provides the refuge. I will not fear what man can do to me. Though arrows may fly, God's faithfulness is my shield. I will not fear bad things happening to me.

A thousand may fall right next to me, but I will not! No harm will come near me. God has a protective shield surrounding me. There's noting that can penetrate God's protection. How amazing is God. He commands his angels to guard me all day long. I have 24 hour angelic protection! That's how much God loves me.

God rescues me because he loves me, unconditionally. When I call on him, he readily answers. When I need help, he delivers and honors my requests. God promises to satisfy me with long life with the company of his salvation.

Take refuge in the shadow of Shaddai.

FOCUS ON YOUrself!

After putting on mascara this morning, I noticed something in my eye. It kept bothering me. I rubbed and I rubbed and I rubbed. After trying to figure out what was in my eye, I noticed a small dot. The dot was the same size of a period; you know, the punctuation mark that goes at the end of a sentence. That's how small the dot was. God reminded me what Matthew 7:3 says.

We can get so focused on things others do...we critique them...we give our unsolicited opinions... we judge, sometimes we do so unconsciously. This year, I'm going to be on guard about the words that come out of my mouth. I will be mindful of the things I say. When we talk about others, we put ourselves higher than another and we know one isn't greater than the other.  For we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

When tempted to talk about, look down, or judge people, PRAY! Pray when people do you wrong and you have things you wish to say about them to satisfy your flesh. Pray when someone cuts you off in traffic. Pray when your coworkers are talking about others. Take the high road. Be Christ like.

It's a job focusing on ourselves, nonetheless, another. PRAY!

Why do you worry about the speck in your friend's eye when there is a log in your own eye?
Matthew 7:3

PRAY!

Delight Yourself

My manna for today: When I delight myself in the Lord, he will give me the desires of my heart.
Psalm 37:4

Some synonyms for delight are:
  • joy
  • pleasure
  • satisfaction
  • gladness
  • gratification
  • relish
  • enchantment
  • delectation
  • fruition
As stated in God's word, when I delight, take pleasure or be joyful about God, he gives me the desires of my heart. When I delight myself in him, he gives me what I long or yearn for. The things I'm passionate about or fond of, he gladly grants me those things. He makes sure that I become what I aspire to become, the more I get to know him. Delighting myself in the Lord seems like a simple task compared to the things he offers me as a result.

Take Delight in Jesus and watch him fulfill your desires.

God Loves You

As I reflect on today, meeting educators from all over the world, from Africa, India, Alaska to the Bronx, I think about the love Jesus has for us. When I was younger, we use to sing, "Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world; red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world". This song is the absolute true reflection of the love of God. What a wonderful world, full of different people, saved by the blood of the one true God, Jesus. I love the way the world is a melting pot of different people with different languages, different backgrounds, and cultures. Though we are different we are more alike!

John 3:16 says, For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only son, that whoever believed in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Embrace who you are in Christ.

God Can Bend Time

This morning, after reading my devotional, I paused in awe at the massiveness but yet the simplicity of God. When I spend time with God, he bends the time to allow me to accomplish all that I need to do. When I stop and give God my attention, he repays me with strength to accomplish my daily tasks.

Spending time with God is the only way to get to know him. The more I spend time with God, the more I get to know His voice. I learn what He enjoys. I learn what His plans for your life are. I am able to get more done, when I spend less time focusing on the things that I have to do, by spending time with God.

Remember the story in Luke 10 of Mary and Martha? Mary knew the importance of sitting still at the feet of Jesus. But Martha, however missed the message because she was too busy focusing on all the things she needed to do to get ready for Jesus. Mary knew that all she had to do was come, as she was. We shouldn't feel like we need to get ready for Jesus. He accepts us as we are when we invite him in and then the changes occur the more we spend time in His presence.

Some say, I need to get myself together before I get right. Nonsense, Jesus is the "getter-righter." We are mere humans. What sin can we wash away? What sin can we correct on our own? None! Jesus is the one that cleanses and keeps!

God is Love.

Jesus Is The Judge

When Jesus comes and all of his angels are with him, he will sit on his throne. Every type of person will be gathered in front of him. He will separate them as a shepard separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right but the goats on his left.

Have you displayed your talents and gifts? When someone was hungry, did you feed them? When a family member asked for money, and you had it, did you give it to them? What about the smelly stranger on the street? Did you show love? Did you turn and go the opposite direction? Did you offer a smile or a hug? Have you turned someone away that needed clothing? Have you taken care of the sick? Have you visited prisoners?

Jesus fed the hungry. Jesus offered the thirsty, something to drink. Jesus never met a stranger. Jesus shows everyone love. Imagine that, he loves everyone the same and equally. The choices we make cannot subtract God's love from our lives!

Consider your actions, thoughts, and your way of life.... are you a sheep or a goat? Will he place you on the right or will he put you on the left?

Matthew 25: 31 - 46

God loves you!

Taste & See

Taste and see that the LORD is good. How blessed is the man that trusts in Him. Psalm 34:8

Are you lonely? Seek comfort in Christ. John 14:16
Are you burdened? Allow Jesus to lighten the load. Matthew 11:30
Are you sad? Didn't you know, the joy of the Lord is your strength! Nehemiah 8:10
Are you bound? Jesus sets the captive free, haven't you heard! Luke 4:18
Do you feel unloved? God loves you so much that he gave Jesus, just for you! John 3:16

Taste and see that the LORD is good.

Peace be unto you!

Your Gift

God gave each of us a gift! He gives and gives and gives. He gave us life! Not only did he think life and love weren't enough to give us, he graced us with gifts. Are you operating in your gift? Is your gift making room for you? What's in your heart to do? Have your sought God about what you should be doing? Have you made the first step? What's stopping you?

Go forth in your gift. Take the first step. After you make the first step, take the next, and the next and the one after.

A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of great. Proverbs 18:16

God loves you.

Grace

God's grace is sufficient.

2 Cor. 12:8,9

God gives us grace for every situation. I thank God for his grace. God gives me grace to run my race. Claim your daily grace. God gives it freely to us. The definition for grace is:free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.

May God's power be made perfect in your weakness!

God is Love. Thank God for grace! There's an abundance of grace! Don't take grace for granted. If you need to give your life to Christ, tomorrow is too late.

Accept Grace

FORGIVENESS

Today,  I charge you with a simple task...
FORGIVE!
Let go of the past.
Look ahead.
God commands us to forgive. It may "seem" hard but it's really quite simple.

For is you forgive other people when they sin against you your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Matthew 6:14 - 15

What if God didn't forgive us..where would we be?

The Immensity of God

Isa. 40:12 - 31 reminds us of the immensity of God:

  • God can scoop up the ocean in His two hands.
  • God measures the sky between His thumb and little finger!
  • God can put all of Earth's dirt in one of His baskets!
  • God can weigh each mountain and hill!
God is:
  • LOVE
  • MIGHTY
  • STRONG
  • POWERFUL
  • FORGIVING
  • CARING
  • KIND
  • PATIENT
  • GOOD
  • EVERLASTING
  • OMNIPRESENT
  • MAGNIFICENT
  • WONDERFUL
  • EXTRAORDINARY
  • GREAT
God is a great provider. I am challenging you today to seek Him and tell Him your worries and watch Him work them out! If you need more money, ask God. If you need direction, ask Him. God is able to do EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY above all you ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
If Jesus isn't Lord of your life, you need His Power. In this moment, don't wait, invite Him. Say, "Heavenly Father, forgive me of my sin. I believe that you live and that you were raised from the dead. I invite you to come into my heart and reign in my life.

Jesus is an IMMENSE GOD!

Stay Focused

Look Up

Things change and change is good. My focus today is to keep my focus on Christ. In Him,according to Philippians 4:13, I can do all things! Everything God says is TRUE! Though the world seems to be falling apart around us, remember to look up! God is in control!
I am reminded today to LOOK UP! When I look up, I:
- focus on God
- remember what God promised me
- make adjustments
- care only about what God says
- decree, God only has good planned for me.

Be encouraged today!
Look Up!
